Black Brown Lemur Hybrid

Black & brown lemurs only share habitat in a small area in the north-west of the island. It is unlikely that they would interbreed naturally. The private Palmarium Reserve in the east central region has both species. It is situated on an isthmus and although the lemurs are free, and able to leave at the narrow northern end, they remain. Some interbreeding has taken place and this is the result.
