This is an eight year old male tiger photographed in Panna Tiger Reserve. We were lucky to see him. Panna had been successful in building up its tiger numbers, largely through the efforts of one naturalist. Around the year 2000 numbers crashed as a result of poaching. We stayed at Panna for a week. In thirty days only one tiger had been spotted. This one. We happened to be in the right part of a large park to be able to reach the spot.
