Bengal Tiger

Resting but alert to what is going on around. This tigress was about six metres away and presented me with an unexpected difficulty. The lens fitted to my camera had a minimum focal length of 100mm and I couldn't get the whole animal. I had to change to a less powerful lens as quickly as possible, while holding on to a swaying elephant and trying not to drop anything. Getting down to retrieve equipment was not an option.
