Female Bengal Tiger

This was my first sight of a wild tiger. It is a three year old tigress. It had killed and eaten, and was lying up during the day. A team of mahouts on elephants goes out at day break, or before, to try to find tigers. If successful, some may stay with the tigers whule the others return to ferry visitors to the location, often deep in the woods. The tigers are used to the the elephants and seemed quite unsettled by the comings and goings.
