Muntjac or Barking Deer (Muntiacus Muntjac)

A muntjac hind pauses on the road to look back at the intruders. They are small deer 50-75 cm at the shoulder. They were introduced into the UK as ornamental deer. They escaped and now devastate gardens in the southern half of England I have photographed them in my garden in Hertfordshire.
